For those of us who were victims of the issues that plagued Xbox Live several weeks ago it appears that we may be on the way to feeling justified. In concurrence with the apology letter sent out by Xbox Live general manager Marc Whitten it was announced today that Microsoft will allow all subscribers to download the XBLA game Undertow for free starting next Wednesday and ending the following Sunday. Those who already own the game are asked to call 1-800-4My-Xbox, at which they will most likely refund your purchasing price for the game.
Not bad a deal. In all honesty though I’d rather download Rez HD though…

First person shooters are extremely commonplace in gaming today and many developers out there are aware that putting out a game in that genre is almost a sure thing for success. However few games in the genre have had as much success as the Call of Duty series. Born from strong roots in the Medal of Honor series, Call of Duty has seen some of the biggest strides in sales in years for a third party developer. The latest title in the series, Modern Warfare, finally breaks away from its roots in World War II to today, something the series has been needing to do for some time.
But is this newest title a rally to arms and wallets or is it simply a misfire? Read on and find out…

Its been a while since Microsoft talked about their fall update, with only rumors and slight hints coming from various sources have been hinting at big, bold new features to be included in the future for the Xbox 360. Well, wait no more, as to celebrate the fifth aniversary of the service, Microsoft announced today some of the new features coming to Xbox Live in their biannual dashboard update. Among some of the updates, taking a hint from Nintendo and (to a lesser extent) Sony, Microsoft announced Xbox Originals, a new service players can use to download titles from the original Xbox directly onto your harddrive. While the frequency of titles being released for download as well as whether they will contain updates and enhancements is still in the dark, it was announced that titles will cost around 1200 points ($15).
Look for this new service to go live December 4th alongside the main dashboard update.
