No, I’m not joking. I haven’t been more serious in my life. It seems that in these lowly hours of the night Midway has seen fit to finally announce the next Mortal Kombat title and it seems this one is designed blow your mind. Partnering up with DC Comics, they have announced Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe. No other information is available, but good lord. In the pantheon of fighting game matchups I don’t think we’ve ever seen such an odd pairing (Marvel Vs. Capcom aside).
I have to go to bed; my brain hurts from this…

There has been some shaky-cam footage of KOF XII floating around for a few days now, but the quality was pretty terrible. While we don’t have any direct feed “yet”, the good folks over at gamevideos.com were nice enough to get some high res (non shaky) cam footage from GDC08.
This game is seriously breath taking… SNK has finally let go of their 18 year old (damn… has it really been that long?) Neo-Geo technology and has visually surpassed every other 2D fighting game. KOF XII even looks better then Arc System Work’s Guilty Gear which up until now was the king of 2D Fighting Game visuals.
With King of Fighters XII and Street Fighter IV looking really promising, I can finally say fighting games are BACK! and I for one couldn’t be happier.
