Don\'t fear the reaper...
Remember just a few short weeks ago when Valve announced something straight out of the department of awesomeness? Well, here’s your confirmation. EA announced today that Jonathan Coulton’s famous little song “Still Alive” will be released as a free download tomorrow for Rock Band on Xbox Live with a release on the Playstation Network coming on April 17th.

Nice to hear, but about adding Guns N Roses’ “Paradise City…”

“Still Alive” Coming To Rock Band

If you haven’t played the quirky FPS puzzle game Portal then I must first say ’shame on you’ as it was probably one of the best games to come out in 2007. For those who have the music piece during the end credits is probably one of the best parts of the game. It seems that Harmonix and EA are of the same opinion as it was announced today that “Still Alive” by Jonathan Coulton would be making an appearence in a future DLC update for Rock Band. In game the song is listed as “‘Still Alive’ by GLaDOS” but the release date has yet to be determined. It must be quite far along however as during the Valve GDC party Wednesday night several Harmonix staff members as well as Coulton himself got up on stage and performed for the song for all to see.

Lets just hope someone at the party is willing to upload a video of the event…

One of the Activision’s worst kept secrets is out and is sure to cause quite a stir today: the newest edition in the Guitar Hero series will be devoted soley to one of the greatest bands of all time: Aerosmith. Set to launch in June which isn’t far off at all, this entry could mark a new shift in the direction of the franchise from being an ensamble of different band’s hits to focusing on individual bands with each entry.

To celebrate the launch Activision has also revealed that players can download the classic power ballad “Dream On” in Guitar Hero 3 for free between February 16-18th. And just when I had thought Rock Band had converted me away…
