Top 10 films of 2007

Well its hard to believe that this is my third year doing this but another year is at an end and as with the years past we have our annual look back at the 10 best films of the year. This year was espically tough, I had at least 2 or 3 different versions of this list with some of the same titles as well as different titles included and different orders, but this is the list I finally settled on and am completely happy with. So without further ado here is my list of the best in cinema in 2007!

The Commish Top 10 of 2006

Its hard to believe that 2006 has come to an end and with the year coming to and end its time to take a look back at my list for the top ten films of 2006. As always this is my list so feel free to agree or disagree with it if you will. But in my opinion these films were the cream of the crop this year and are highly reccomended. Most are available on DVD or currently in the theaters so if you want to see a great movie then hopefully you can use this as a guide. So without further ado onto the list.

Movie Review: The Departed

Film Review - The Departed

Martin Scorsese is one of the greatest directors to come around in a long while. His catalog have been way beyond impressive: Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Casino; I could go on and on listing his many films and even go on a rant on how he has yet to win an academy award (not that they really mean anything anymore). After taking a little break from his Mean Streets roots to make other projects (the period piece Gangs of New York, and the Biopic The Aviator) Scorsese is back with a vengence in the remake of the 2002 Hong Kong crime film “Infernal Affiars”. But is The Departed really a return to form or just Scorsese trying to hold on to old material?
