D-War US Poster

Torn.

That’s exactly how I’m feeling right now. Is it me or are all of you SICK and tired of the cheesy American movie trailer… no more Don LaFontaine… no more “I’m to old for this shit” one liners… Granted the Korean trailer wasn’t phenomenal, but I just feel dirty after watching this US Trailer. And WTF is up with the name change? The poster actually says Dragon Wars and D-War. PICK ONE! On the plus side the trailer does feature Craig Robinson aka Darryl from The Office.

Right now the only place hosting the trailer is IGN, hopefully we’ll get some Quicktime HD soon.

D-War

With the super huge Korean blockbuster The Host set to drop on DVD next week, we have some info on yet another Korean Monster Movie. What do you get when you take a dash of Lord of the Rings, a touch of The Host, some Star Wars and a modern day disaster movie and you left with D-War. What’s really interesting is that while this a Korean film, it’s all in English with an American cast…?

The film is set for a September 14th release date. I know I’ll be in line… Will you? You can read the official synopsis and watch the trailer below.

Based on the Korean legnd, unknown creatures will return and devastate the planet. Reporter Ethan Kendrick is called in to investigate the matter, and he arrives at the conclusion that a girl stricken with a mysterious illness named Sarah is suppose to help him. The Imoogi makes its way to Los Angeles, wreaking havoc and destruction. With the entire city under arms, will Ethan and Sarah make it in time to save the people of Los Angeles?

Review: Pan's Labyrinth

Guillermo Del Toro has been on the fanboy radar for a while now, ever since he directed the fantastic Blade II (which to me is far superior to the first film) and of course bringing Mike Mignola’s Hellboy to the big and small screen, it was time for him to tackle his own material this time around. The result was Pan’s Labyrinth. A labor of love for Del Toro that brought him home the Oscar for Best Foregin Film at this years Academy Awards. Well now Pan’s Labyrinth has been released on DVD with 2 editions for your viewing pleasure and we have the review for the 2-Disc Platnium Edition DVD.
