FINALLY!!!!
It’s been some time since I’ve upgraded my players and joined in the very stupid and drawn out HD-DVD vs. Blu Ray war. The war my be very stupid, but the fruit it bears are incredible, at lest for those of you who can enjoy HD video. Enjoying the next gen formats so much has made me a bit of a snob especially towards SD (Standard Def) DVDs. I haven’t bought many SD DVDs since upgrading my players, and unfortunately one of those films was Pan’s Labyrinth… Thank heaven New Line has finally announced their plans to bring Pan’s Labyrinth to HD.

commentary by Del Toro, two featurettes, an interactive “Director’s Notebook,” extensive storyboard and still galleries, an excerpt from the “Charlie Rose Show” with Del Toro, and a Marketing Campaign gallery with trailers and other ad materials.
Exclusive to the high-def versions will be an enhanced picture-in-picture video commentary with cast & crew interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, while the HD DVD will also enjoy web-enabled content (to be announced at a future date).
Tech specs are equally impressive, with 1080p video (codec TBA) and a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio track in 7.1 Surround — so far the studio’s first high-def title to be confirmed with high-resolution audio.
Retail for both next-gen editions is $35.99.
The disc will hit streets on Dec. 26. What a sweet Xmas gift.
