WTF…
Did Sony really make the a big deal of the Dualshock 3 aka the SIXAXIS with Rumble or as Sony onced called it a last gen controller feature. This is just beyond stupid… why pick one of the biggest gaming shows of the year to admit you made an enormous mistake. Not only are they beyond late with the Dualshock 3 but they are now acting like it’s an innovative feature and no longer a “last gen feature”. Dumb…
Just check out a small bit of what Sony had to say.
The new controller will also benefit PS3 content creators, by
giving them the ability to further expand their creative imagination.
Puhlease….

terrible post. people demanded rumble so they got it. some like the sixaxis, some don’t. it’s not a failure by any stretch of the word.
on the contrary, people should be commending Sony for at least trying something new and out of the box.

I think you misunderstand my point.
Sony had a problem with Immersion who has the patten on rumble technology. So rumble couldn’t make it in to PS3.. Okay I get that.
I don’t think the SIXAXIS or Dualshock are bad. My problem is with Sony, they totally shit all over rumble technology when the console was launched.
“Rumble is last gen technology”
“Rumble isn’t important”
“We think gamers don’t want rumble anymore, they want motion control”
Now they are saying they’ve solved the issue of rumble and motion control working together.
It’s just so disingenuous… I’m glad the controller FINALLY has rumble. But don’t put out press releases about innovation.
Just be straight forward and say something like “We are now finally able to license rumble technology and will include it in our controllers from here on out.”
As for “commending” Sony for trying something new. What did they do that was new? The controller looks EXACTLY the same as it’s always has, they copied Xbox 360 home/guide button and mimic what nintendo did with the wii.
