Yes, its coming. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has purchased the rights to one of the most legendary anime series of the 1980s for a multiple movie series. Warner Bros. is planning on making it a summer blockbuster film in the vein of Transformers. Craig Zahler, a not as of yet proven writer, will handle writing the script while a director has yet to be assigned to the project.

Now, I know what you are thinking: Slacker, how can this staple series in animation be screwed up? Well, check this: the production of the movie series will be handled by Toby Maguire of Spider-man fame’s Maguire Entertainment, with rumors reporting that he will take a lead role in the film.

I don’t care who you are; if he is assigned the role of Rick Hunter someone is going to die.
