DC comics and Warner Bros. have officially announced the first PG-13 animated Superman film based on “The Death of Superman” Trade Paperback novel.

Produced by Bruce Timm (Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Animated Series) and written by Duane Capizzi (The Batman, The Batman vs. Dracula), Superman Doomsday is inspired by the best-selling graphic novel of all time, DC Comics’ The Death of Superman. When the intergalactic serial killer Doomsday is unearthed, Superman meets the creature head on in the battle to end all battles. Going punch for punch, Superman finally ends the threat of Doomsday as he throws one last punch and collapses forever – making the ultimate sacrifice to save Metropolis and all those he once loved.

Superman Doomsday will be available exclusively on DVD September 18, 2007, we’ll bring you the cover art as soon as its made available.

    Well i just watched this movie and frankly aside from doomsday and superman being in it there was no justice done for this epic tale… they butchered what was the greatest storyline in the superman comic series, they have rewritten the entire event and frankly they did so very poorly… i am extremely disappointed in this film… A Great story could have been told here instead it was put through the hollywood woodchipper and out came this piece of shreaded gargbage slapped with the superman name…
