Earlier this month, MMO-innovator Multiverse announced plans to develop a Firefly massively multiplayer online game in accordance with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising. Based on the short-lived sci-fi television show that was the brainchild of Joss Whedon, the game will take place in the same universe and will feature many of the same locations and characters, though it is not derived directly from the show nor its spin-off movie, Serenity, and therefore will not focus on any of the main characters, but will instead focus on the stories and histories of each individual player as they create a name for themselves in the Firefly universe.
