Updated Playstation 3 deets

Sony was finally kind enough to have a press conference where they shed some light on a few questions we’ve all had on our minds. Most notably we finally get a semi-solid system launch date, and some info and specs.

Playstation 3 Specs:
• World wide release November 11th.
• Playstation 3 Price point will be no less the Â¥50.000 [$425 US]
• Full backward compatibility with texture filtering and high resolution textures.
• Upgradable 60GB 2.5 hard drive with Linux pre-installed
• HDMI support at launch
• Final PS3 dev kits well be going out in June
• All games will be on Blu-Ray disc for piracy protection
• BD-Roms manufacturing cost will be the same as a 2-layer DVD
• Basic online service will be free
• Online service will use GameSpy Technology and is being co-developed with SOE

   does this mean it includes a 60GB HDD or its upgradable TO 60GB?

   damn, $425 is a pretty steep price; i did hear the rumors of a expensive price but i never thought it was based on anything concrete.

   Well they actually haven’t said weather it will be included or not..

   I would probably guess not.

   and remember it will be “no less then 425″

   so i’m guess it will be more.

   with that price, it better include a HDD
