More Clerks 2

Following in the footsteps of Bryan Singer and Peter Jackson, Kevin Smith has started up a video diary to document the process of making Clerks 2. It looks to be, like most things Kevin Smith, candid and hilarious, filled with stories filmmakers typically don’t share about their work/life.

Also of interest is Smith’s discussion of the look of the film. For some reason NewsAskew keeps refusing my connection, but in any case, to summarize there will be a lot of handheld camera work and moving shots as opposed to the static two-shots employed by Clerks. Moreover, while they’re still debating on whether they will shoot HD or film, it looks like they’re going with film using a digital intermediary, allowing them to do things like de-saturate the hell out of the scenes at work to give it a washed out, almost hellish look.
