Toshiba just announced the future line of their Gigabeat line. The X30 is 20% smaller than its predecessor with the same design, and the same features. A notable addition was support for WMA 10 DRM for Music-based subscription services. It can handle about 16 hours of continuous playback. The screen sized was upped to 2.4in from 2.2in but the resolution remains the same (320×240). It will retail for about $330 dollars, initially offering three colors (red, silver, and black) debuting on or around September 22. Finally, the Gigabeat doesn’t seem as bulky as it did before which, in turn, might interest more DAP consumers.
