Well here it is Vol. 3 of Shinichiro Watanabe’s successful new series Samurai Champloo, while the release schedule is pretty slow (every other month) at least their consistent. So On With The Review

The Series
Money & Blood! Whether a fake promisory note or an empty wallet, a variety of challenges face Mugen, Jin and Fuu in their struggle to survive. Not even monsters of legend, murderers or a never-ending rain can shake their iron will and confidence! Then Mugen and Jin find Fuu’s diary…
This volume collect episodes 9-12: Beatbox Bandits, Lethal Lunacy, Gamblers and Gallantry (Fallen Angel), and The Disorder Diaries. My favorite of this 4 being the third episode of the disc (Gamblers and Gallantry) in which develops quite possibly this series most interesting character Jin a little more, you get to see what kind of man this quite lone samurai is.
Rating: 9 0ut of 10

Transfer
Like the previous 2 volumes you get a pristine 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, not much else to say but its spot on perfect, I dont know how many times I can rave about this series’ treatment on DVD!
Rating: 10 out of 10

Audio
Much like the previous volumes and other Geneon DVDs you get Japanese Dolby 5.1 and Japanese DTS 5.1 and English 5.1. And just like the previous volumes the sound field is robust and certainly works the surrounds, again my only gripe is the voice acting on the English Dub.
Rating: 9 out of 10

Extras
Just about None, you get previews for other Geneon titles. Id really like more special features cause I dont want to even think that some time down the road they’ll release another friggen set with all sorts of special features, but you know that will happen.
Rating: 1 out of 10

Overall
Once again we get a very impressive addition to our Champloo library, if only they had some making of stuff on the disc instead of written interviews on the DVD insert, so the lack of extras brings the score down a bit unfortunately
