Beowulf CGI Movie Announced

Sony Pictures has put down two million dollars on a bid to create a motion capture CGI production of Beowulf, the classic Olde English tale of the Geat warrior with the strength of a demigod who saved the Danes from the murderous threat of the wicked demon, Grendel. The adaptation will be directed by Robert Zemeckis and will use a script penned by Richard Avary and the great Neil Gaiman. The script was originally under the control of DreamWorks until the film hit development hell, in effect falling out of DreamWorks’ grasp and into the hands of Sony. This CGI effort comes just after Zemeckis’ Polar Express, which probably gives us an idea of how the characters in Beowulf will appear. Just not as creepy I would hope.
