Zelda : The Wind Waker

Breaks Half Million in preorders.

Partly due to Nintendo’s great preorder campaign that includes a free bonus disc with Ocarina of Time and the Master Quest, the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has sold more than 560,000 copies with more than two weeks remaining before it is released. Jerry Madaio, Vice President of Merchandising at Electronics Boutique, says it has even sold better than last year’s hot commodity, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is the most anticipated video game in Electronics Boutique’s history based on our pre-orders, even outpacing last year’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. And the number of pre-orders is still growing! Clearly, this game’s appeal is so wide, that it is a ‘must-have’ for any Nintendo GameCube owner.”
